ALABAMA MINERAL & LAPIDARY SOCIETY IN A NUTSHELL

The Alabama Mineral and Lapidary Society is a non-profit organization for people interested in geology, mineralogy, paleontology and lapidary arts.

  • Meetings are the second Friday of each month (except June) at 6:30 PM.  Meetings are approximately two hours.  Visitors are welcome, we love for kids to join us!!!

  • Beginning in May, we will move our meeting location to the Emmett O'Neal Library in Mountain Brook!  Click here for directions to our new meeting location.

  • We always have food at our meetings, so don't eat before you come!

  • Door prizes at most meetings.

  • Club sponsored field trips & joint trips with other clubs.

  • Club sponsored Rock and Mineral Show the first weekend in June at Tannehill State Park.

  • Mineral Identification and Wire Wrapping classes for members.

  • Scholarship program for Lapidary Schools.

Dues:

  • The "Dues Year" runs from January 1 through December 31; dues are paid per calendar year.

  • Family $20, Single $15, Junior/Student $10; these all include a Newsletter subscription.

  • Members joining after June 1 in a calendar year pay 1/2 price for the current year.

  • Members' dues are renewed each November for the following calendar year.
