|Here is an old specimen from the 3M Quarry, Pulaski County, Arkansas. Golden blade of kuptletskite with typical "feather" termination , secondary aegirine "puffballs" and a nice Niobian titanite. The LED ringlight shows the green color of the Nb-titanite nicely. When you use incandescent light, the titanite has a distinct red color. If you try and image one, it comes out a disgusting greenish-brown color! FOV is about 1 X .7mm. Imaged with a Canon 40D, 23mm Nikon objective and 300mm Canon FD telephoto in a tube configuration. |
