We are:
Alabama Mineral & Lapidary Society is our proper name.
AMLS is our club acronym used for quick speaking or short writings.
Lapidary Club is our preferred name as it relates to our web presence "lapidaryclub.com"
(we go by all three so all three are correct and should be easily relatable with rock clubs)
A non-profit organization for people interested in geology, mineralogy, paleontology and lapidary arts.We meet:
The second Friday of each month at 6:30pm for about 2 hours.
At Cahaba Height Methodist Church in Cahaba Heights.
Visitors are welcome in a family friendly environment.
We do:
Club sponsored and federation sponsored field trips.
A club sponsored gem and mineral show event every year.
Learn lapidary and jewelery making skill at our club workshop.
Dues:
The membership 'dues year' runs January 1 through December 31 and are paid per calendar year.
Family $25, single $20 and includes our monthly newsletter sent to your email address.
Members joining after June 1 in a calendar year pay 1/2 the amount.
Dues are renewed beginning in November for the following calendar year.
